World Environment Day
On June 5, 1972, the United Nations held its first conference on the human environment in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, and adopted the famous Declaration on the Human Environment and the Action Plan for Protecting the Global Environment, which put forward the slogan of “protecting and improving the environment for this and future generations”.
World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5th every year and has been held annually since 1973. It reflects the understanding and attitude of people around the world towards environmental issues, and expresses humanity’s yearning and pursuit for a better environment.
